Progress

I thought it was about time to break radio silence and post an update as to what has been happening over the last few months.

Shoestring racing is going to be back on track for 2012.

First and most important change has been my long term coach , Mark Forgy, deciding to prioritise himself a little more in a more than hectic lifestyle he leads ... As Mark reminded me we have worked together since 2008 so every great achievement I attribute to Mark and his guidance making sure I was physically and mentally ready ... I wish Mark the best of luck in whatever he decides to achieve and I am sure we will stay in touch for many years to come.

At the moment I am without coach so simply doing what I know works until I can find someone to fill Mark's shoes.

Kit wise I was almost riding for a new team but decided that my schedule is so hit and miss and my events so random at times it would just be easier to have the flexibility in owning my own bikes and paying my own way ( although with help from friends ;) ) .

Event wise I have started to put together a great year of riding ... Hit the North 3, Whinlatter Challenge, TransALLgarve to name but a few.

The biggest challenge of the year comes in the form of a single event in the US ... a single day event in which I hope to be very competitive ... I will leave it at that until next week when the entry hopefully gets secured.

Fair to say I am very focussed at the moment .. I started the year on New years day with a Metric Century on the cross bike with Cross Club rider Adam Cooke , Last weekend another big 70 plus mile ride .. this weekend hopefully another century ... just gonna keep pushing out the distance until I am VERY comfortable at the event distance I want to do well at :)

Hopefully in the next few weeks I will give a more detailed run down of both the event I am gunning for this year and also all the bikes I plan to ride and race :)

Happy Days :)

FA cup - Manchester Derby: Manchester City to appeal unfair Kompany red card after 3-2 defeat by Manchster United

Manchester united won 3-2 against ten men Manchester City in Manchester derby FA cup match. City played almost 80 minutes with ten men and yet managed to threat United win and nearly snatched an equalizer on final minutes.

Kompany was sent off for raised to foot tackle, at least that is what Chris Foy thought and ended City FA cup dream. Replay show Kompany tackling with two feet but extended his right foot wide and stopped the ball with the inside on the right foot. There was little contact with Nani who did not fall down and the superb tackle. It was a two raise foot tackle, but does that alone qualify it to be a serious foul play?

"We will do an appeal and I am sure that we will win an appeal Roberto Mancini said and went on to add. "There is no way Vincent shouldn't play against Liverpool in the Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday."
Mancini is very confident he will be able to turn around the red card decision. added: "I don't want to talk about this incident. It was 300% not a sending off." He added.

If the red card stand Kompany will face four match ban, which include two Carling cup semi final legs against Liverpool and tough premier league match against the on form Tottenham Spurs. With Yahya and Kolo Toure already left for African cup of Nations, City will try their best to see the ban removed or even reduced by FA.
Liverpool (h) Carling Cup semi-final first leg
Wigan (a) Premier League
Tottenham (h) Premier League
Liverpool (a) Carling Cup semi-final second leg.

According to FIFA laws of the game, send-off qualify when it is a serious foul play. Below are the Sending-Off Offenses in Law 12 - Fouls and misconduct.

by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a

5. denies an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving
towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick
or a penalty kick
6. uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures

Premier league video highlights: Demba Ba bang his 15th league goals in as Newcastle vs Manchester United ended 3-0.

Demba Ba has now proved without doubt that he can take on any team any defender when he scored his 15th premier league goal, to be second after top scorer Robin Van Persie. He was a nuisance to United, denied call for a penalty early on after Rio brought him down on penalty box though the referee saw otherwise. He went on to be denied call for fouls and miss to connect a mouth watering cross.

United manager Fergusson brought in Anders Lindegaard for De Gea on to see the goalie concede for the first time in premier league and went on to concede three. There was nothing much he could do for all three goals. For the third goal it is not clear if he would have reached the ball before Leon Best if Jones avoided deflecting the ball. Demba score the open with a nice volley over Rio Ferdinand who block Anders Lindegaard vision. The second was pretty much super strike though Cabaye went just two steps behind before hitting the ball that hit crossbar and went inn. It was similar to Lampard goal vs Germany that was denied but Howard Webb did not require goal line technology to make decision. Then came the final nail, Jones own goal as he tries to obstruct the ball from Leon Best. He accidentally deflected the ball but Anders Lindegaard was already moving the other direction.

Results add to the tally of surprising recent premier league results:
Chelsea vs Aston Villa 1-3
Manchester United vs Blackburn 2-3
Fulham vs Arsenal 1-2

Wayne Rooney coming from unpaid week after misbehavior in holiday season was unable to prevent Manchester United consecutive defeat and was withdrawn on 75 minute. United made substitutions and played with 3 forwards before Rooney replacement but still could find a goal.

Premier league video highlights: Manchester City vs Liverpool 3-0, Aguero, Toure and Milner on target

Manchester City moved three points at the top of the premier league table with 3-0 victory over Liverpool after losing to Sunderland last game. Manchester United had opportunity last week to top the league but they squander their chance, today they have chance to go level on points with League leader if they beat Newcastle United. It is unthinkable to imagine them winning by 9 goals difference and top the league but this season had many surprising results and one cannot rule out this difficult scenario. Sergio Aguero opened the score, followed by YahyaToure and James Milner nailed the third goal despite Barry being red carded 2 minutes ago. Aguero add his goal tallies to 14 and go level with Demba Ba, three goals behind Robin Van Persie.
